On Sunday, Team India lost the crucial T20 International match against New Zealand, losing the series 1-2, but ‘Chinaman’ Kuldeep Yadav ranks up from his performance. In the last T20 match of the series played at Hamilton, Kuldeep Yadav grabbed two wickets for 26 runs and got his career-best ICC ranking.
24-year-old wrist spinner Kuldeep has come in second place in the ICC rankings of the bowlers with the advantage of one place. Kuldeep has 728 points while Afghanistan’s 20-year-old leg spinner Rashid Khan is at the top with 793 points.
There is no other bowler in the top 10. Kuldeep’s spin partner Yuzvendra Chahal has dropped six places to 17th position, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at 18th place. On the other hand, Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya has managed to get the career-best 58th Ranking.
India’s opener Rohit Sharma has gained three places to be at the 7th position and Shikhar Dhawan is up one place to be 11th. KL Rahul (10th) has fallen three places. Babar Azam of Pakistan is on top.
Virat Kohli, who is out of the series against New Zealand, dropped four places to be joint 19th with Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson got one notch up to 12th, Ross Taylor climbed seven places to 51st and Tim Seifert on 83rd with a jump of 87.
On the other hand, India has remained second in the team ranking after Pakistan, despite losing two ranking points.
