Indian women’s hockey team beat Korea by 2-1 to win the series

Indian women’s hockey team made a spectacular comeback after being beaten by one goal and defeated South Korea by 2-1 in the second match and made an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India also won the first match by this difference. The third and final match will be played on Friday.

For the Indian team, skipper Rani Rampal (37th) and Navjot Kaur (50th minute) scored goals. Lee Sungju scored the only goal for Korea in the 19th minute. Both teams made a quick start both teams got a penalty corner in the first quarter but goalkeepers from both India and Korea kept the opposition out of the goal.

In the fourth minute of the second quarter, Korea made the lead with Sungju ‘s goal. The hosts were 1-0 ahead of the interval. In the second half, India started well and in the 37th minute got the equalizer of the Rani’s spectacular field goal. India kept the pressure on Korea and in the 50th minute, with the help of Navjot’s goal, they made a 2-1 lead which proved to be decisive.
