Indian Hockey Team Defeated Argentina in 28th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup

For the last year’s disappointment, the Indian men’s hockey team will start its campaign against Japan’s Gold Medalist in the first match of the 28th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup on Saturday.

Despite being struggling with the fitness of many players and many players without the coach, the Indian team is not confident. During the recent practice match, Gurjant Singh returned home due to the nasal bone breaking.

Captain Manpreet Singh said on the eve of the match, We can get a tough challenge from Japan, Korea, and Malaysia. They are descending with a strong team. Young players have to perform better.

Being in the new player’s team will benefit us because the opposing teams will not know much about them. Indian team arrived here on Monday. On Thursday, he played a practice match against Malaysia.

Last time India was in fifth place in 6 teams, but the young team teamed up with some senior players to do well.  India defeated Olympic champion Argentina 3-2 in the first match.

After this, he played 1-1 draws from England and lost to Australia 2-4. This was followed by defeating Malaysia 5-1 but losing to Ireland 2-3. Manpreet said, “We hope young players will be performing their best under the guidance of senior players.”

India won the title in 1985, 1991, 1995, 2009 and 2010. At the same time, Australia defeated Australia in the final of 2016 and won the Bronze Medal in 2017.
